Sigur Rós - "Heima"

I'd never heard of this Icelandic musical group before today, but their music is eerily beautiful, and this full-length movie, called "Heima" or "Home" is exquisite.

Apparently it's not in Icelandic but, ah, "Hopelandic".

Quote: "If you haven’t heard of the band I think you should check them out, but do so with an open mind. All of the lyrics are in Icelandic or Hopelandic which is the language that lead singer, Jónsi Brigisson, created. It is of course not an actual language by definition (no vocabulary, grammar, etc.), it’s really a form of gibberish vocals that fits to the music and acts as another instrument."

That's an eccentric band, like Bjork, though good too.

Interesting commentary on the "language" they use. I like the concept of using the voice/lyrics as another instrument.

God bless,
