Agrarian? Beware H.R. 875

The sponsor of this so-called "food safety bill" is married to a man employed by Monsanto. The language of the bill is general enough that it could apply to your local organic farmer or your own backyard garden. If the new government department it creates deems your produce unsafe, you could face up to a $1,000,000 fine.

Of course, all things done by government are more efficient and just plain better than things done by private individuals. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

H.R. 875: 111st Congress
Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009

Oh, this is very important...VERY important. You've done a real service in helping to bring this to light, Laurel. I plan to spread the word as much as I can.

Monsanto and some of these other big agribiz companies are truly wicked. They're in bed with the powers that be, and they take a dim view of anyone who wishes to remain independent of their control and machinations.

Everyone reading this blog should begin praying that the Ever-Living will thwart such black and blasted "laws" as this proposed one.

Again, thank you for helping us keep our eyes open, sis.

You are very welcome, Wheeler. Besides, how we would be able to have the wholesome food at home that you have proven you love, if we can't obtain anything but sterile engineered produce?

Love and God bless you, my brother,
Laurel
